Transformative potential

We believe in the potential of hydrogen as a clean, renewable, and versitile energy source that can power our future society and solve the major climate problems caused by fossil fuels. However, producing hydrogen cost-efficiently through water splitting is a challenging chemical process, which calls for a new generation of more efficient and more robust electrode materials.

Born out of a visionary research project

HyEnGen originated from multi-centered, cross-disciplinary research dedicated to the design of new electrode materials for water electrolysis. As this research evolved, the objective expanded from electrode to electrolyzer design.

The results we see now are built on more than five years of collaboration involving specialists from the catalyst, fuel, material and organic synthesis research fields. Through the merging of our team’s wide range of competences, we have created a new promising electrode technology with potentially longer lifetime and improved efficiency, which we are currently in the process of evaluating and optimizing.
